BVRio’s Group Company, SIM, is proud to be a founding signatory of the Rotterdam Statement of Support for the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF), an initiative that aims to create long-term financial incentives for tropical forest conservation worldwide.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0declaration builds on the momentum from the recent investor convening co-hosted by the Finance for Biodiversity Foundation, Robeco, WWF Netherlands, and the Government of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Launch of the 5th Eco Invest Brazil Auction: The path to scalable investments<\/strong><\/p>\n


\nBVRio Founder Pedro Moura Costa spoke at the\u00a0Fifth Eco Invest Brasil Auction<\/a>, held at BTG\u2019s London office and organised by Capital for Climate (C4C), alongside institutions shaping the next generation of climate-aligned investment frameworks. The auction will allocate USD 6 billion to innovation and R&D in low-carbon technology, designed to attract foreign partners to match 45% of the capital provided by EcoInvest.<\/p>\n

RCF featured in new WEF Report: Financing the Food Systems Transition<\/strong><\/p>\n

An estimated USD 1.1 trillion per year is needed to finance the food systems transition by 2030, yet current funding covers only about 5% of that amount. The gap, as the new World Economic Forum report argues, is not primarily a capital problem. It is a coordination problem.<\/p>\n

On 23 June, BVRio founder\u00a0Pedro Moura Costa attended the roundtable marking the launch of this report. The\u00a0Responsible Commodities Facility (RCF)<\/a> was featured as a central case study, highlighting how blended finance structures and stakeholder convening can unlock investment at scale.<\/p>\n

Fishing for Litter: Ocean Plastic and Coastal Communities<\/strong><\/p>\n

BVRio’s partner, the social enterprise Ogyre, presented at Reset Connect on 23 June, detailing the state of coastlines choked by plastic waste. Most of it is rendered unrecyclable by salt and sun exposure, yet its removal holds significant value for coastal habitats and local tourism.<\/p>\n

BVRio coordinates Ogyre\u2019s operations in Rio de Janeiro, where over 100 artisan fishers have already earned supplementary income through waste collection in mangrove areas. \u201cOur operations in Brazil show how marine waste collection can support coastal habitats while also creating additional income opportunities for local artisan fishers. The solution is not only marine waste removal: it is a mix of collection, disposal, education, advocacy and strong local partnerships.
