The event will be held in\u00a0<strong>Accra, Ghana,\u00a028 February \u2013 2 March 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>100% legal<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">The Responsible Timber Trade Fair is a great opportunity to connect buyers and sellers of legal and certified timber products, thus helping to promote legal timber trade.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Connecting international buyers with West African timber producers<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Timber producers and traders will have the possibility to exhibit their timber products and make direct deals with buyers. International buyers will find timber products from all over West Africa available under one roof. The fair is the perfect place to ask questions and exchange information.<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Showcasing trends<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">Leading experts will speak about trends in West African timber trade, international markets and buyers\u2019 requirements; and the importance of legality in the timber sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Why Responsible?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The illegal trade of tropical timber is one of the main drivers of environmental degradation, human rights abuses and corruption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The EU Timber Regulation, the US Lacey Act, and the Australia Illegal Logging Prohibition Act support the trade of legal timber, <b>requiring timber buyers to take due care in the selection of suppliers of timber products<\/b> to be imported to their countries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Responsible Timber Trade Fair is an opportunity to <b>connect buyers and sellers of legal and certified timber<\/b> products, thus helping to promote mutual efforts to combat illegality in the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A unique international event BVRio is organizing the first international timber trade fair dedicated to promoting the trade of 100% legal and certified timber.
