\"\"The <\/span>2022 Earthshot Prize finalists<\/span><\/a> were announced today. The Earthshots are split into five different categories; Protect and Restore Nature, Build a Waste Free World, Revive our Oceans, Clean our Air and Fix our Climate.<\/span><\/p>\n

BVRio has again confirmed its status as an Official Nominator and is in the privileged position to be able to submit nominations for The Earthshot Prize 202<\/span>3 from 5 December 2022 until 31 January 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Along with the other <\/span>Official Nominators<\/span><\/a>, we are looking for exceptional initiatives which aim to address one of five critical issues facing the planet. Five prizes of one million-pounds are being awarded each year, providing at least 50 solutions to the world\u2019s greatest environmental problems by 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can get involved by bringing to our attention any initiatives, aligned to our strategic priorities, which you feel we should consider, by emailing details to info@bvrio.org<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Earth is at a tipping point and we face a stark choice: either we continue as we are and irreparably damage our planet, or we remember our unique power as human beings and our continual ability to lead, innovate and problem-solve. People can achieve great things. The next ten years present us with one of our greatest tests \u2013 a decade of action to repair the Earth.\u201d <\/span><\/i>Prince William<\/span><\/p>\n

The Earthshot Prize is about much more than awarding achievement \u2013 it is a decade of action to convene the environmental world with funders, businesses and individuals to maximise impact and take solutions to scale, to celebrate the people and places driving change; and to inspire people all over the world to work together to repair the planet.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Earthshot Prize is centred around five \u2018Earthshots\u2019 \u2013 simple but ambitious goals for our planet which if achieved by 2030 will improve life for us all, for generations to come. Each Earthshot is underpinned by scientifically agreed targets including the UN Sustainable Development Goals and other internationally recognised measures to help repair our planet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Together, they form a unique set of challenges rooted in science, which aim to generate new ways of thinking, as well as new technologies, systems, policies and solutions. By bringing these five critical issues together, The Earthshot Prize recognises the interconnectivity between environmental challenges and the urgent need to tackle them together.<\/span><\/p>\n

BVRio Chairman and founder, Pedro Moura Costa, commented, \u201cWe are honoured to have been selected again in 2023 for our ability to identify the most impactful solutions individuals, communities, businesses and organisations are making towards achieving the five Earthshots.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
