BVRio Brazil has added to its Board by appointing three new members, providing more diverse perspectives and expertise. Now with six members, the Board meets three times a year to provide BVRio Executive Directors with comments and guidance on the organisation\u2019s strategy and operational and budgetary plans and to assess the accounts annually.<\/span><\/p>\n

Joining the existing members, <\/span>Pedro Moura Costa<\/b> from BVRio UK, <\/span>Walfredo Schindler<\/b> from the Brazilian Fund for Sustainable Development (FBDS) and <\/span>S\u00e9rgio Bessermann<\/b>, Economist and Environmental Specialist, are:<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Roberta del Giudice<\/b>. Roberta has been the Executive Secretary of the Forest Code Observatory, since 2017. A lawyer, with over 24 years of experience in Environmental Law, 10 of which at the Ministry of the Environment and almost six years at BVRio. She has a Masters in Sustainable Development from UnB and is a specialist in civil liability and environmental management. She is one of the authors of the book A Brief History of Brazilian Forest Law.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/b><\/p>\n

Alice Thuault. <\/b>With a degree in political science and a Masters in anthropology, Alice is now the Executive Director of Instituto Centro de Vida – ICV, a key organisation in the low-carbon scenario of the state of Mato Grosso. With more than 15 years of work in the Brazilian Amazon, she has led the creation of concrete solutions for controlling deforestation and mitigating climate change. She has implemented research on climate policies and forest governance and developed considerable experience in negotiating with different actors at the State and Federal levels and from the public, private sector, civil society or representatives of traditional communities.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/b>Also recently joining the Board is <\/span>Fabricio de Campos<\/b> in an independent capacity. Fabr\u00edcio de Campos is the head of the Sustainable Finance and Markets in WWF Brazil, coordinating the finance local initiatives in Zero Conversion and Deforestation, Forest Restoration and Socio-Biodiversity drivers. Fabr\u00edcio is also the Latin America & Caribbean Regional Lead for the Dutch Fund for Climate and Development origination facility and coordinates the LAC Bankable Nature Based Solutions community. Agronomical Engineer with a Finance and Banking MBA, prior to WWF, was an owner partner and director of a Brazilian-based think tank, assessing big global brands and organizations on supply chain climate change adaptation and mitigation, water footprint assessments, ecological footprint assessments and policy briefing for Federal Brazilian States and state capitals.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
