The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Farming (MDA), BVRio, and the Brazilian Foundation for Sustainable Development (FBDS) have signed a Cooperation Agreement under PlanaFlor<\/a>, a strategic plan aimed at leveraging the potential of Brazil\u2019s Forest Code to integrate vegetation recovery with sustainable rural production. The agreement was established to promote productive restoration, i.e., sustainably recovering degraded areas to generate production, employment, and income in line with the guidelines of the Forest Code.<\/span><\/p>\n

This cooperation aims to support the implementation and assessment of MDA\u2019s National Programme for Productive Forests, contributing to the mapping of priority areas for productive restoration and strengthening biodiversity management in family farming territories and traditional communities. Additionally, the pact provides technical assistance to develop strategies that enable the concession of public lands for environmental restoration and the generation of biodiversity-based carbon credits.<\/span><\/p>\n

Set to last 36 months with the possibility of extension through an addendum, the partnership reaffirms the commitment of all parties involved to implementing innovative solutions that balance agro-environmental production with native vegetation conservation. It aligns national environmental recovery goals with international climate commitments.<\/span><\/p>\n

Within PlanaFlor\u2019s framework, the activities will build upon the initiative\u2019s efforts in identifying and mapping priority areas for restoration and developing guidelines that integrate rural production with environmental conservation. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
