VCM Global Dialogue publishes its Vision and Action Agenda

Today, 27 October 2021, the Voluntary Carbon Market Global Dialogue published its Vision Action Agenda on how the global community can mobilise the full potential of the VCM to help meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

The voluntary carbon market provides an important opportunity to support increasing climate ambition by steering private investment to low-carbon development. Governments can use the voluntary carbon market to tap into additional mitigation potentials if they engage strategically. Including contributions from BVRio Director, Pedro Moura Costa, the Vision and Action Agenda of the VCM Global Dialogue, presents six action points on how we can create a market that can support national and local climate plans, promote developing countries’ needs and preferences, and unlock greater levels of private investment, while strengthening the rights of, and opportunities for, local communities and indigenous peoples. The recommendations follow from extensive consultations with VCM stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean.
