Rio Climate Action Week 2025: summary

To foster strategic dialogue in the run-up to COP30, BVRio and partner organisations convened a series of meetings bringing together government, civil society, the private sector, academia and financial institutions during the first edition of Rio Climate Action Week (RCAW), held in late August in Rio de Janeiro.

Over three intense days, the programme featured six events and 13 panels, with 71 speakers, over 500 participants in person. This broad engagement highlighted the relevance of the discussions on waste management, forest restoration, Forest Code implementation and climate finance, and reaffirmed Brazil’s position at the centre of the global climate debate.
